  • Not... Bad?

Let’s look at everyone’s least favorite Queen album!!! Yayyy!!!!! Staying Power: 8/10 This one’s a guilty pleasure. I love the jazz arrangements in this song. Dancer: 6/10 Synths are kinda annoying, but everything else is good ol’ Queen. Back Chat: 6.75/10 Low key good song. It’s mysterious and cool. Body Language: 6/10 Good bass riff, but a weird song. Action This Day: 5/10 The only truly listenable part is the chorus. It kinda has this “so bad it’s good” feel to it. Put Out The Fire: 7/10 If this was on any other Queen album, it would be sooo much better. But this is the album where the guitars are shoved aside for synthesizers. Still a good song though. Life Is Real (Song For Lennon): 7/10 A Queen song about John Lennon? I’ll take it! Calling All Girls: 6.5/10 Another low key good song that will probably grow on you. Las Palabras de Amour (The Words Of Love): 6.5/10 Another passable song. Not one of my favorites though. Cool Cat: 8/10 A genuinely great and funky song. This is what the album should’ve been like. Under Pressure: 6/10 Don’t hate me for this, but I’m not crazy about this song. Bowie is great, but the instrumentation is kinda okay. It’s not a downright terrible album but not something I’d listen to often. The synths are okay for the most part but they could have been so much better (on future albums and on The Game they incorporated synths a lot better). Hot Space is too much of a drastic departure from their sound, and that prevents it from getting the love that other Queen albums get. Compare to Rush’s “Signals”, also released in 1982. It featured synthesizers as much as Hot Space did, but still felt true to the classic, complex sound of Rush, and the songs were quirky, bouncy, and memorable. Does Hot Space deserves the hate it gets? Not really. Is it their most underrated album? That would be “Innuendo”. Is it at least good? Yes.
  • Very Weak 80s Techno Crap

    By VinCT
Should have been called Hot Mess....Probably their worst album IMO. Unfortunately they tried to fit into the 80s mold of technocrap with this effort. The sheer notion that the once proud liner note of "No Synths!" disappeared with The Game (lightyears better than this effort) and continued with this album. This album is nearly ALL synths...Gone are Brian May's stellar riffs and solos...If not for Under Pressure this record wouldn't rate at all.

  • Very Underated but fun

Sorry for the misspelling of the title.I think this album has an incredible first half.Well except for body language. But the second half just isn’t that good.Well except for under pressure. That one is a classic. What I’m saying is that if you like disco(Which I do)You’ll love the first few tracks but the rest(Except for under pressure)Is not that good
  • Underrated

This is one of Queen's best albums, in my opinion, yet it gets overlooked very often. This album brought us great songs like Back Chat, Action This Day, and, of course, the classic David Bowie duet Under Pressure. I feel like this album is criminally underrated.
  • Very underrated

Hot Space was supposed to be the successor to "The Game" with Deacon mostly at the helm of the ship because of the success of "Another One Bites the Dust." It's all personal choice really. We all can agree "Under Pressure" is an amazing song, but there's some underrated songs. "Dancer" comes to mind for me. If you're going to buy this, look up some songs on YouTube to see if they're you're style and not criticize an song for the title (Cool Cat).

I think the only notable song from this album is "Under Pressure." I mean come one Deaky. Did you really have to pull your own rock band into this. I mean most of it is forgettable stuff, Jesus, these guys wrote the rocking “Bohemian Rhapsody” and now on this album they have a song called “Cool Cat??????"
  • Groovy!

I think (although it's not the most popular album) this is a great and disco/funk inspired album that'll make you want to get up and dance.
  • Not The Best
