Amazing album. It gives me a sense of calm and joy every time I listen to it. Madonna’s voice is so tender and refine. Loved Tried to Welcome Me, Bedtime Storie, Secret, Take a Bow, and Human Nature are some of the best songs on Madonna’s catalog. I became a fan after this album. It’s always on my playlist.

This was her effort to recover from the backlash of the Erotica, SEX book era. This is also her most softest effort. This album is honestly just average. The music videos for the singles were some of her most different and creative ones especially for the time. Her vocals are the highlight of this album and fuse well with R&B but it’s a shame that half the album sounds the same (repetitive). Love the color scheme for the artwork and the font, very 90’s.
  • Madonna’s best album!

This is a really good album from beginning to end. Everything flows; not a single wasted song. Probably Madonna’s best work!

The song and video for "bedtime stories" was under appreciated ... The song should be re- released... Gives me the chills listening to it today... It was released way before its time... Complete "Art"... Thanks Madonna!!!😊

A lot of Madonna albums are great for experimentation, but in this one she gets back to her original R&B disco roots. The slow grooves are relaxing but hypnotic and the lyrics are more earthbound focusing on romance and relaxing after a long day at the office. As others have pointed out, this soft approach can be a little more seductive than the straight on sex talk of Erotica (although that's a good album too). I do love "Human Nature" lets the world know Madonna regrets nothing - this is just a temporary pause folks. And I also love her one collaboration with Björk, the song "Bedtime Story". Madonna really does justice to the surrealistic nature song which isn't easy. When I got it in the 90s, I had it on constant replay and the album has really held up.

This wasn't one of my favorite Madonna albums in the 1990's or even the 2000's. However, now that I'm cusping 40 years of age, I have a new found appreciation for the soft & slow musical production presented here... GREAT JOB, Madonna! The album "Bedtime Stories", which was made during a period of professional uncertainty for the world wide musical ICON we have all come to know as MADONNA, still stands the tests of time some 20 years on...
  • Her Best Album -Period

After the trifecta of her Erotica Album/Sex Book/Erotica Tour projects, Madonna was over-exposed and had fatigued the public with all her sexy shock tactics. So when her new single "Secret" was released as the lead single for her new album, it didn't hit #1 on the pop charts but it did hit the top 5. After the overt sexuality of "Erotica," I don't think it helped her case when the public learned that the new album would be called "Bedtime Stories." The album peaked at #3 on the album charts, but ended up out-selling "Erotica." And with good reason, the album is phenomenal. Madonna plus Babyface equals R & B magic. Lyrically, this album felt more personal than "Like A Prayer." This album is probably one of her most-focused concept albums. When people heard the title, they thought it meant sexual. However, the title really described intimacy. And the public finally understood the concept and the album finally took off. The 11 tracks really paint a human picture. Reflective. Joyous. Defiant. Sensual. Sad. It's all there. It's no surpise that this album yielded her biggest hit to date,"Take A Bow." And 22 years later, this album really holds up well.
