Heavily auto tuned and only 9 short mediocre songs. The only decent tracks are the three singles

Watsky has definitely refined his craft, it’s great to see his music mature with his life. It directly puts you in the setting that Watsky is living in and it’s amazing to always listen to host perspective on life. 10/10 would recommend.

Watsky’s previous album, xInfinity, felt like a true sonic masterpiece of carefully articulated musicianship and lyrical craft. Although the composition of many of these latest songs feels like a slight departure from the sound developed on the former album, they still fuse to create a cohesive entity that feels authentic and genuine as Watsky explores new avenues of his creative expression. I am confident that the live renditions of many of these new pieces will resonate with fans from years past because of the energy and deep emotion carried in Watsky’s writing and the musicianship of his band. Artists like Watsky demonstrate that a dynamic approach to songwriting and performance can attract new fans while showing older fans a level of versatility that probably appealed to them in the beginning. Still plenty of fast, clever rapping to be heard here..but also many new aspects of Watsky’s vocal abilities that were less apparent in previous work.
  • autotune makes me fearful for where his music is headed

indistinguishable from much of mainstream rap. I wish this wasn’t the case. maybe the record will grow on me, but this isn’t the watsky i grew up loving. I get it, artists evolve and their styles change, but much of this feels like a devolution.
  • Just a meh album

Watsky is the best Watsky when he crafts his entire album as a single concise piece of art. This album doesn’t feel like that. It just feels like another rap album from any of the thousands of artists out there. Watsky is my favorite artist and I hope this isn’t the path he’s going down. But what do I know, I don’t make music.
