Unified and liberating
It's a story about coming to appreciate the freedom of inclusion, mystery, connection and surrender. The meaning of it all meets us not in our heads, but in our moment-to-moment heart experience, with all the pain and pleasure it brings. Nothing is wasted, nothing is lost, everything flows in one direction and the choice is our to resist or accept it.
While this album doesn't necessarily have any tracks that blew me away, I am so excited to hear another Thrice album that captures their unique ability to create amazing music in various genres/styles. This album displays this variety which has been missed in the last two albums. All in all, I enjoy every song from this album just I have for every album since Illusion of Safety but I am excited for this step in returning to inter-album variety.
I love Thrice
I love Thrice but this album just isn’t very good. I loved the last album but as someone else said, this album pales in comparison. It’s just mediocre at best. We all expect more from Thrice.
End of an era
I guess this is what happens to bands when they get older.
I never thought I’d say this, but I’m less than impressed by this album, and kind of bummed out. Here’s to hoping the album grows on me.

Not sure what to think
By Beby jr
I'm a huge Thrice, but yet after hearing this album a couple of times I was confused. I was excited to hear The Grey before the album came out, but after listening to the full album I didn't think there was a story to the album. Most songs didn't seem to belong together and at times I felt like I was listening to another band. I'm still a fan of Thrice, but this was not one of their best work.
We all know Thrice throws in musical changes on each record; and that’s why we (at least I) love them. I really enjoy this record, and would closely relate it to “Major/Minor”.
“Just Breathe” and “Beyond the Pines” really stand out to me, and mark my favorite spots on the album.
“Branch in the river” while not a bad song at all (Thrice doesn’t write BAD songs), would be a track I may skip over every other spin of the album.
My only real knock on the album: wish it were longer. One-two additional tracks would have been excellent. Hope they release an EP early next year to help tide us all over. (I’ve never been completely satisfied with a 10 track LP). 11 Track minimum! (Without fillers!)
Hope to see you guys live soon! Thanks for this record!
By far not their best, but it took a few listens to completely hate this album
Incredible as always
Thrice has literally been my favorite band since I heard their first some in the beginning of high school. Love this album. Dustin is such a talented songwriter and of course musician. I’m so glad to see them back together. I honestly could go on and on and on.
